You have used your public office to ruin India, Mr. Manmohan Singh, if not to “enrich” yourself

Subhas Chandra Pattanayak

The mouse never enriches itself by being in a position to treat a book taking advantage of lack of vigilance on part of a librarian, but it ruins the book by gnawing it down to tiniest pieces of useless papers. If the mouse says, “I have not enriched myself” thereby, should that look different from your assertion, “I have not used my public office to enrich myself”, Mr. Manmohan Singh?

Who other than you before you had ruined India to the point of such irrecoverability that a helpless people resigned to fate elected a man like Modi whose government deliberately dropped the core force of Indian Constitution – secularity and socialism – from its Preamble in its official advertisement in this year’s Republic day environment, Mr. Singh?

What was your reaction thereto Mr. Manmohan Singh? You knew that 42nd amendment had absolutized the Preamble that reads:

“WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:
JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity;
and to promote among them all
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation”

You knew that when any Article of the Constitution can be amended, the Preamble cannot be amended, as it is not an Article; rather is the mother of all Articles.

What sort of a Republic we are to be? The Preamble answers: a Sovereign Democratic Republic we are to be. How can we be such a Democratic Republic? The Preamble answers: if we can be secular. How can we become secular? The Preamble answers: If we can be socialist. So, the only way India can remain a Sovereign Democratic Republic is available in socialism. In other words, existence of India lies in socialism. You, Mr. Manmohan Singh knew it as all of us know it. And you know the bare definition of socialism is: social ownership over means of production.

Therefore, without venturing any amendment on the Preamble, as shrewd servants of capitalist conglomerate, you and Pranab Mukherjee, under the mask of P.V.Narasimha Rao, had subjected India to GATT agreement behind back of the people and thereby rendered the Preamble inconsequential. Since that day, India has succumbed to your design to take a turn from socialism to capitalism and thousands of crores of Indians have been pushed into starvation, to drag whom to condition of slow starvation, you had engineered supply of subsidized food grains like rice and wheat at the rate of Rs.2/- (even Re.1) per Kg.

Do you remember Mr. Singh, you had expressed “shame” over being confronted with the reality that “In India” around 46 per cent of all children below the age of three are too small for their age, 47 per cent are underweight and at least 16 per cent are wasted. Many of these children are severely malnourished”, in the Report of the ‘Citizen’s Alliance against Hunger and Malnutrition’ (HANGaMA) that you, as the Prime Minister of India, had released on 10 January 2012 ?

I, as a citizen, had expressed my shock in these pages over the admitted spread of abject poverty under your practice of capitalism and your scheme of globalization, under the caption: “Where is shame we may use in being ashamed?” Did you do anything tangible to save India from the “shame” you so shamelessly had depicted in that HANGaMA meeting, Mr. Singh?

When whole of India was trembling under uncontrolled rise in prices of essential commodities, you Mr. Singh had refused to clamp any control on avaricious traders by saying you had no “magic Wand” to reduce prices. You had pushed innumerable Indians, who were unable to meet the price rise, to condition of starvation, for which Mid Day Meal and one-rupeean-rice was contrived so that people may be dragged into slow-starvation from starvation and instead of dying soon, they may continue to live although in inanition. Had any other Prime Minister before you had used his office to push people to such ruin, Mr. Singh?

Be it the business of the terror funding Bank of a Pakistani namely BCCI, or implementing American design to provide “Bonanza” to US nuke traders by signing the nuke deal with them arbitrarily by keeping our Parliament in total dark about the “text” of the Hyde Act, which was a design to clamp on India the Americans’ rotten reactors to permanent detriment of Indian environment, in each of your such mischief, have you not misused your office as Prime Minister for benefit of foreigners at the cost of India, Mr. Singh?

Exposed by the CAG over mega scams that ruined the economy of India, had you not tried to intimidate the top auditor of the Country, Mr. Singh? Have you not obstructed the relevant CBI Court to hear you in matter of exposed scam, by way of invoking the intervening powers of the Apex Court? Was it not morally proper for you to honor the CBI court summon and state your version that could have helped the said court to determine if institution of the case before it was prima facie sound? Is it not ruining the manna of the CBI Court?

Who knows whether or not you have enriched yourself by using your office? But had you not accommodated compradors in your cabinet while holding the office of Prime Minister as the scams exposed by lawful authorities so emphatically suggest, Mr. Singh?

Should you not address yourself to introspection and come out honestly with your confession on what harm you have done to India?

Or yet you are blind to the ills of capitalism that you had clamped on India to please the Americans?

Or you are relaxed as your successor Mr. Modi, whom you have already met in a secluded room with only both of you privy to what you discussed, is set to enhance your economic policy so that the ruin he shall perpetrate will exceed that what you caused, bringing the gullible people eventually to say, you were better than Modi, exactly as the people before voting for BJP were saying, Vajpayee was better than you?

You were a teacher. Invoke the teacher again in you and confess your crimes against the Country, which only a teacher can do. Guts, an axiom says, is required to commit a crime, but greater guts is necessary to confess the crime. Show that you have the greater guts. As a man in politics, you committed wrong by subjecting India to capitalism, which has ruined India. Confess that.
