Union of Journalist and a Permanent Special Invitee to the National Executive

Union of Journalists (India). The founder of popular column

Sambad, he has the penchant for amalgamating news with views
in all his write-ups, aimed at a society increasingly getting fed with
mere (mis)information banks. His funda of life is "unto the tradition

he says pertains to all that matters to the Oriyas of the world. Saswat Pattanayak Currently doing his Ph.D. in Journalism from the University
of Maryland, Saswat Pattanayak is a post-graduate in Industrial
Psychology as well as Mass Communication. Having been a spendthrift reporter
since he came out of Indian
Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi in the Summer of
'99, he has been trained in reporting at The
Economic Times, New Delhi, laid layouts and covered extensively
as a reporter for The
Asian Age at Bhubaneswar and been Staff Writer for The
Hindustan Times at Bhubaneswar and Ranchi. An incorrigible
optimist, he has also initiated a popular psychology magazine 'Ego' psychology

Sociology from Delhi
School of Economics, Chinmoy Biswal is currently pursuing a
PhD in Social Medicine and Community Health from Jawaharlal
Nehru University, New Delhi. Instinctively attracted to journalism,
he has edited news reports and broadcasts for Ministry of Information
and Broadcasting, Government of India, and read national news bulletins
in Oriya on All
India Radio for over three years now. Largely self-taught,
Chinmoy is now enrolled for a post-graduate diploma in Journalism and
Mass Communication from Indira
Gandhi National Open University.
