Vigilance Cases Against IAS Officers

Asked by Dambarudhara Ulaka, Congress MLA from Bissam Kataka, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, in a written reply, said that vigilance cases are going on against 25 Officers of Indian Administrative Service. Six of Officers belonging to Indian Police Service and 17 of Indian Forest service are also facing vigilance cases for having accumulated wealth disproportionate to their known source of income.

CBI Investigating 56 Cases

Asked by ruling alliance heavyweight Ranendra Pratap Swain, Minister of State for Water Resources, Ravi Narayan Nanda told the House that 56 instances of corruption in his department were spotted and referred to the Central Bureau of Investigations for appropriate action. The CBI has returned 18 of those cases to anti-corruption wing of Orissa Police even as it has closed down 11 cases as unfound. Out of the rest 27 cases under its investigation, 14 have been forwarded to General administration Department for initiation of prosecution where next step is awaited.
