Keeping the original Act intact, provide punishment for contravention : Bhasha Andolan to CM

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has ruined the essence of Orissa Official Language Act, 1954 by amending it twice in 2018 for the nefarious purpose. Section 4-A inserted into the Act is designed to undo the provisions of the original Act that, in the whole State of Orissa, for all and any official work the language shall be Oriya.

Bhasha Andolan Presidium has asked the Chief Minister to do away with this mischief and to amend the Act afresh to repel the notorious Section 4-A and to bring in new provisions to severely punish whosoever functionary fails to work in Oriya language and contravenes the Act.
