Banoj Tripathy describes how Subrat Kumar Prusty stole away the State’s Work on Classical Oriya

Subhas Chandra Pattanayak

In these pages I have shown that the Presidential Award of Cerificate of Honor to Scholars under the category Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman ,2019 in the field of Classical Odia (Oriya as is classically known) to Subrat Kumar Prusty is the worst possible official assault on the mana of the mother tongue of the Oriya race, inasmuch as he is the person, who had stolen away the State Government’s researched work in support of its claim for declaration of Oriya as a Classical Language.

In my series of articles exposing this theft in the broadsheet daily ‘Sarbasadharan’ under the caption ‘Miccha Kebe Sata Huena’ (Lie can never become the truth), I had named the gang that had helped the crime.

In search for the truth while working on the series, I had interviewed Banoj Tripathy, printer of the official work, to know how the Government-work captioned ‘Classical Status of Odia Language’, given to him for printing, could become the work of a private enterprise under the caption ‘Classical Odia’.

He had clearly stated that ‘Odia Bhasha Pratisthan’, which had given him the work-order for printing, had deputed Subrat Kumar Prusty to assist him in proofreading. But he, after gaining over his as well as his staff’s trust as a person dedicated to the cause of Oriya Language, stole away the soft copy thereof from his system in his absence and endeavor was made to suppress the official work during consideration of the claim for Classical tag to Oriya.

Now, as this Subrat Kumar Prusty has been awarded with the Govt. of India’s Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman in the field of Classical Oriya, I have loaded the interview dated 18.7.2017 in the YouTube for all to know how the cultural crime had taken place; and, how, on this background, bestowing upon him the Presidential Award in the field of Classical Oriya is an insult to Oriya Language.

In two parts, the video is embedded here.
