Bhasa Andolan has reached its 16th day of silent black-flag march demanding provision of punishment against whosoever contravenes Orissa Official Language Act.
That, silence also creates powerful noise if used in movements of public importance, is being witnessed in the well-defined support “Bhasa Andolan” is gaining.
It is of utmost significance that the Orissa Assembly in session has been adjourned till 12.15 pm today, as the Opposition wanted to know as to why the government is reluctant to stop continuous contravention of the official language Act, enforced with immediate effect since 1954.
Congress members displaced placards demanding immediate enforcement of the Act in its entirety and unfailingly.
For the first time, the Assembly has been adjourned on the issue of Governance of Orissa in Oriya.
