Publication of Sambalpuri-Kosali songs and poetries may be a part of the golden jubilee package of Orissa Sahitya Akademi, informed Dr. H.P.P.Pattnaik, Akademi Secretary to the audience at Sambalpur during celebration of the jubilee on 4th November 2007.
Giving an outline of golden jubilee agenda, he disclosed that a compilation of complete works of the saintly poet Bhima Bhoi would top the list of publications that the Akademi has planned during the Jubilee year. There should be research on his love songs to assess how longingly he had linked emotion to devotion, Pattnaik propounded.
Held under chairmanship of H.R Gandhi, Vice-President of the Akademi, the event was addressed by poet Umashankar Panda and poet mangulu Charan Biswal. When Panda stressed on necessity to curb over-dependence on English in didactics, Biswal called upon writers to self-assess their creations on reflection thereof in the societal mirror.
The golden jubilee symposium was styled as Sambalpur: A Cultural Epitaph. Participants were Prof. Narayan Prusheth, Prof. Kumuda Ranjan Panigrahi on the keynote address delivered by Anustup.
PoetGopalkrushna Rath presided over the golden jubilee poet meet, which Maheswari Prasad panigrahi, Mohan Sahu and Sobrat Pradhan coordinated.
