Poisoned split-pulses supplied by the government to school going children and pregnant women in Orissa killed the second day of the State legislature as repeated short-duration adjournments failed to remove the impasse. The Speaker adjourned the House to 17th of February.
Congress, recognized Opposition in the Assembly displayed the deadly dal in the hall and harped on action not only against involved functionaries; but also demanded the Chief Minister’s resignation on charges of endangering the lives of the school kids and carrying women by officially feeding them with the harmful Harad dali contaminated with wormy and toxic Khesari.
As its insistence on suspension of all businesses to discuss the dal issue did not click, the Congress rushed into the well and adopted postures adequate enough to derail debates.
