New Delhi:
Dispute over Orissa constituencies delimitation is to continue till population report is verified. The all party committee that was to discuss the issue with the delimitation commission found that the population report supplied by the commission differs sharply from that of the census-001.
The Orissa Committee comprising of MPs M/s Giridhar Gamango (Congress), Prasanna Acharya and Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJD), Juel Oram (BJP) ; MLAs M/s Raghunath Mohanty, Ssanatan Bisi and Kalpataru Das (BJD), Nalini K. Mohanty (Cong) and Ms. Sanchita Mohanty (BJP)
Had elaborate discussion with Justice Kuldeep singh, Charman of the Commission. The Orissa team said that it was unable to finalise its views as the population report supplied to it does not tally with census findings.
The delimitation being dependant on population distribution, the Commission is to supply a certified copy on which authentic comments could be made, said the Orissa team.
