Orissa’s new Power Minister Arun Sahu has met the Union Energy Minister Dr. M.Virappa Moily at New Delhi and persuaded him for release of the State quota of 500 MW from NTPC, according to an official press release.
Sri Sahu, according to the release, has taken a personal stock of proceeding and problems of various power schemes that the central government is implementing in the State.
Accompanied by the State’s energy secretary Sri P. K. Jena, he has had discussions with the chiefs of PGCIL, NTPC, NHPC and Rural Electrification Corporation and has taken to note, where, as the State’s energy minister, he is to cooperate in removal of bottlenecks.
