Athgarh Sub-Division is drowned under corruption and hence all out attempts must be made to expose the practitioners of corruption, sans any compromise, vowed the participants in a grand meet of friends organized by Athgarh Bikash Parisad at Maa Uttarachandi temple on Thursday.
The meeting was chaired by Parishad President Ramnarayan Mohanty and attended by more than 100 activists from the four ex-States of Athgarh, Tigiria, Baramba and Narasinghpur comprising the Sub-Division.
There is discernible nexus between politicians in commanding positions and bureaucrats everywhere in the Sub-Division and the people in the grassroots are perishing by loot of their purses in every office. Every welfare project is being derailed by the combines of corrupt executive hand in glove with political touts. This mischief must have to be finished, the participants resolved.
Amongst others, Advocates Suryanarayan Mohanty, Bikram Dash, Jagadananda Tripathy, Pradosh Swain, Arun Mohanty and social workers such as Prataprudra Beuray, Shyam Sundar Barik, Kiran Bihari Khatua, Nutan Rout, Govind Nayak, Sanjay Ratha, Ajay Nayak etc. participated in the discussion and vowed to root out corruption from every table in different offices by organizing protests, agitations, campaigns to make the masses aware of the fraud and irregularities going on for the last two decades.
