Founder of Bhasha Andolan Subhas Chandra Pattanayak in a mail to the State’s Chief Secretary has called upon him to say if the allegations he has made against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in matter of forgery and scam used in insertion of Section 4 and Section 4A in Orissa Official Language Act are incorrect.

On the first day of the new year, Pattanayak had informed the CS of the offences committed by the CM in causing wrongful amendment to the Act. With his keeping mum, as the Government is not working in Oriya as per the Language Law, Sri Pattanayak has sent the CS the following mail:

Dear Chief Secretary,
Government of Orissa,
Sir,
In forwarding my mail dated 1st January, I regret to say that your august office has not yet informed me what action has been taken on the same.

I believe, I have apprised you of all the illegalities adopted in the 3 amendments to the Orissa Official Language Act, 1954, with ulterior motive to debar our people from their right to be governed in their mother tongue, for which the Province was created and to which the Act has given them entitlement.

I stress that the Government has no right to indulge in forgery and scams to atrophy our Language Act. If my allegations are incorrect, the correct position may please be informed to me.
Regards,
Subhas Chandra Pattanayak,
Founder, Bhasha Andolan, Orissa.
